Seif, Elsie Charlotte (17 October 1888 - 29 May 1954) 
 

Mrs. Charles Seif, 65, of 209 Clay Street, Neillsville, died Saturday May 29, 1954, at the Neillsville Hospital, where she was taken following a heart attack. 
 

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 1, from the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church, the Rev. William Koehler officiating.  Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. 
 

The body reposed at the Bergemann Funeral Home until 12 noon Tuesday when it was taken to the church for the services. 
 

Mrs. Seif (Elsie Charlotte Wood) was born October 17, 1888, to David and Mary (Marden) Wood at Neillsville.  She received her education in the Neillsville Schools and taught school before her marriage to Charles Seif on June 16, 1910, at Neillsville.  Since that time they have made their home in Neillsville, where she helped Mr. Seif operate an implement business.  
 

She was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed Church, the Women’s Guild of the Church, Royal Neighbors of America, and was a member of the county health committee, by election of the county board of supervisors. 
 

Survivors are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Richard Hemp, Mosinee; three sons, Chester of Augusta, Dale and William of Neillsville; two brothers, Earl and David Wood, Portland, Ore.; and two sisters, Mrs. J. J. (Iva) Hanes, Kirkland, Wash., and Mrs. Ed (Nancy) Wightman of La Crosse; two half-sisters, Mrs. Walter Amidon, Neillsville, and Mrs. Mabel Parker, Portland, Ore. and one half-brother, Homer Wood, Merrillan. 
 

Seven grandchildren also survive. 
 

Pallbearers were: Robert Harvey, James Hauge, Milo Mabie, Albert Smith, Fred Vornholt and William Yenni. 
 

Out of town relatives attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hemp and children, Mosinee; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Seif and family, Augusta; Mrs. Edward Wightman, La Crosse; J. J. Hanes, Kirkland, Wash.; Joseph and Oscar Seif, Hortonville; Mr. and Mrs. Adley Kreutz, La Crosse; Mr. and Mrs. William Marden, Greenwood; Mrs. Matt Beschta, Appleton; Mrs. Catherine Beschta, Hortonville; Mrs. Lloyd Nelson, Milaca, Minn.; Mrs. Laura Keuer, Pittsville.
