Malecki, Harriet (7 AUG 1954)

 

On Saturday morning, Aug. 7th, 1954 at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Harriet Malecki became the bride of Joseph Hnatko.  The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Malecki of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and the groom is the son of Mr. William Hnatko of Lublin.  Rev. Francis Piekarski officiated at the 10 a.m. double ring ceremony.

 

The bride was given in marriage by her father.  She wore a full train gown of shimmering satin and nylon netting.  The Chantilly lace bodice was accented by a necklace of iridescent sequins.  The skirt was complemented by a Chantilly lace peplum.  Her veil of imported silk illusion was attached to a coronation crown of pearls and sequin flowers.  The bride wore her sister’s veil.  She carried a shaped like a star bouquet centered with a white orchid and yellow roses and wore a gold cross, gift of the groom.

 

The bridesmaids, Mrs. Lorraine Venet, sister of the groom; Betty Ann Neiman, friend of the bride; Ann Wasylko, cousin of the groom; all wore identical orchid floor length gowns of nylon net and lace.  Fashioned with staples bodice of lace with net inserts.  The full bouffant skirts were inserts of lace.  They wore lace capes with Peter Pan collars worn over the dresses.  They wore coronation type crowns of lace and brilliants in matching colors.  All bridesmaids carried bouquets identical to the bride.  Bouquets were star shaped of yellow and white carnations.

 

The bride chose her sister, Sharon, as flower girl.  She was dressed in white nylon tulle with box pleated ruffle across shoulder and with illusion neckline fashioned the bodice of the dress and full tulle skirt with box pleats ruffle trimmed in tiny pink flowers.  White crown of sequin and brilliants were worn.  She carried a small bouquet identical to that of the bridesmaids.  Her gift was a gold cross.  The bride’s gift to her attendants were two strings of pearls.

 

Attending the groom were Raymond Venet, brother-in-law to the bride, as best man; Sylvester Konieczny, cousin of the bride; Richard Malecki, brother of the bride; Eddie Zuber, friend of the groom.  All wore powder blue coats with midnight trousers and white carnations in their lapels.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Al Ciolkosz sang "On This Day, O’ Beautiful Mother," while the bride place a bouquet of red roses and yellow carnations at the altar of the Blessed Virgin, while the groom said a prayer to St. Joseph.

 

The bride’s mother wore a pink nylon dress with an orchid corsage.

 

Dinner at 11:30 was served to about 35 relatives at St. Hedwig’s Hall.  At 6 o’clock a reception was given to about 130 families of relatives, friends and neighbors.  Music was furnished by Emil Kodl and his orchestra.

 

The bride graduated from Thorp High School and was employed at home.  The groom was in the Navy before he became employed for the Chicago & Northwester Railroad.

 

The happy couple will honeymoon out south to Tennessee and will make their living in Chicago, Ill.

 

Out of town guests were from Withee, Wis., Lublin, Wis., Chicago, Ill., Milwaukee, Wis., Cudahy, Wis. Pittsburgh, Pa., Steubenville, Or., and Calif.
