Kostlevy, Eddie  (14 AUG 1916-02 OCT 2009)

 

Eddie Kostlevy, 93, Caroline, passed away on Friday Oct. 2, 2009, at Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clintonville. Friends mat call at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, on Friday, Oct. 16, from 4 p.m. until time of services at 6 p.m., at the funeral home. Services will be conducted by his nephew, the Rev. William Kostlevy. Burial will be on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m., at Mount Angeles Memorial Park, Port Angeles, Washington.

 

Eddie Kostlevy was born in the town of Beaver, on Aug. 14, 1916, to Charles and Stella (nee Dushek) Kostlevy. He was raised on the family farm and educated at the Beaver Center School, and he graduated from Loyal High School, only accomplished by walking 12 miles each day for the four years, Following high school, he hauled milk and worked in logging in northern Wisconsin. During World War ll, he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash. Following his discharged from the Army, he returned to Washington where he married Jaunita Ziegler in 1947. He was employed by the Crown Zellerbach Co., Port Angeles, Wash., for 30 years, first as a lineman and then as a control board operator at the lower Elwa River dam hydroelectric plant until his retirement I 1978. He was a member of the Eagles Club and the American Legion Post. The couple had an active social life; they danced the jitterbug and liked to play bingo. He also enjoyed taking care of his yard and helping out neighbors with their projects.

 

Survivors include his three nephews, Edward Kostlevy, Colby, William (Gari-Anne Patzwald) Kostlevy, Hillsboro, Kan., and Frank (Joanne) Kostlevy, Caroline; one great-niece, Rebecca Kostlevy, Wausau; two great-grand nephews, Charles (Jordan) Kostlevy, Black Earth, and Richard Kostlevy, Caroline; one great-niece, Marah Kostlevy, Black Earth; and many other relatives and friends.

 

Preceding him in death were his wife, Juanita, in 2005; a brother, Henry, in 1989; and a sister-in-law in 2001.
