Pinter, Mary Ann (Marriage - 31 Aug. 1957)

Miss Mary Ann Pinter and Al Hickman, Jr., exchanged marriage vows Saturday, Aug. 31, before a nuptial high mass at St. Louis Catholic church, Dorchester. The Rev. Gerald Schuh witnessed the double ring ceremony at 9:30 o’clock.

Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. John Pinter, Abbotsford, route 1, and Mr. and Mrs. Al Hickman, Wausau.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of chantilly lace over satin with a floor length bouffant skirt. The fitted bodice had a scooped neckline trimmed with seed pearls, with long sleeves that tapered to points over the wrist. Her French imported silk illusion veil fell in full folds to her finger tips from a crown of seed pearl ear rings, the gift of the groom. She carried a bouquet with a white orchid, stephanotis and carnations arranged in cascade style.

Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Pinter, brother and sister-in-law of the bride. Others in the wedding party were the Misses Dorothy Ven Rooy, Colby, and Pat Steele, Wausau, friends of the bride, and Gerald Pinter, Abbotsford, brother of the bride, and Donald Bohman, Wausau, friend of the groom.

Miss Debby Hickman, 4-year-old sister of the groom, and Danny Hanke, cousin of the groom, both of Wausau, were the miniature bride and groom.

The little bride wore a frock identical to the bride and carried a cascade bouquet of carnations and stephanotis.

The bride’s attendants wore identical gowns of Crystalette over taffeta, designed with fitted bodices, scooped necklines, brief sleeves, and very full ballerina length skirts. Turquiose was the color chosen for them. They carried star shaped bouquets of mums and roses.

Mrs. Pinter wore a teal blue dress with white and black accessories to her daughter’s wedding. She pinned a corsage of red and yellow carnations to her shoulderline. Mrs. Hickman, mother of the groom, had a corsage of yellow and white carnations which she wore with a tan and black dress. Her accessories were black.

About 200 guests were present for the dinner and supper served at the church dining room. The reception during the afternoon was held at the home of the bride’s parents. In the evening, the young couple greeted friends at a wedding dance held at Trianon ball room.

Mr. and Mrs. Hickman are making their home at 738 ½ Third Ave., Wausau. The bride, a graduate of the Abbotsford high school, is employed at Employers Mutuals, and the groom works for Sippi Bros.
