Klinkhammer, Emily (Marriage - 24 Aug. 1957)

Miss Emily Klinkhammer and Harold Nielsen exchanged marriage vows Saturday, Aug. 24, at St. Bernard’s Catholic church. The Rev. Raymond Schulz witnessed the double ring ceremony and was celebrant of the nuptial mass at 9:00 o’clock.

Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Klinkhammer, Abbotsford, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nielsen, Oshkosh.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length organdy gown. The princess styled torso, which ended in a low cuff above a full skirt, had puffed sleeves and a Peter Pan collar. Her finger tip veil was secured to a pill box head piece. Sprays of ivy cascaded from her bouquet of stephanotis.

The attendants of the bride were her step sister, Miss Patricia Gierl, of St. Paul, as maid of honor, and the groom’s sister, Miss Mary Jane Nielsen, as bridesmaid. They were attired in identical gowns of pale green taffeta with a lace yoke accented with a bow at the back and circular skirts. They wore short veil headpieces to match, and carried bouquets of yellow carnations and white gladioli.

Richard Geffers, a friend of the groom, was best man and Daniel Klinkhammer, brother of the bride, was groomsman.

David Lindberg, brother-in-law of the bride, and Peter Gierl, a step-brother of the bride, ushered.

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Klinkhammer wore a blue ensemble with black accessories and Mrs. Nielsen chose brown. Their corsages were made of yellow roses and white carnations.

Following the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. David Lindberg. A reception was held at 2:00 o’clock at the home of the bride’s parents.

Relatives from away included Mr. and Mrs. Keith Zimmerman, Osseo, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wilbert, Pengilly, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Klinkhammer, Owatonna, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Beck, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Nielsen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Swanke, Mrs. Kempinger and Mrs. Christ Nielsen, all of Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Nielsen, Waukesha; and Mr. Boonie, California.
