Hoff, George (4 Mar. 1886 - 9 Apr. 1957) 
 

Funeral services for George Hoff, 71, who died Tuesday, will be held Saturday afternoon. The body is now at the Zink Funeral Home and will be taken to Christ Lutheran church Saturday, where services will be held at 2:30 with the Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating. Internment will be made in the Dorchester cemetery. 
 

His son, Harley, will arrive from California, Friday night. 
 

George Hoff was born March 4, 1886, in the town of Little Black. On Dec. 30, 1912, he was united in marriage with Miss Martha Brechlin at St. Peter’s church, Dorchester.  
 

For a period of 32 years, Mr. Hoff operated a hardware and grocery business in Curtiss. While living in that community, he served as village clerk and treasurer of St. Peter’s Lutheran church.  
 

Three years ago, he retired and moved to Abbotsford. Several weeks ago, he suffered a stroke and was a patient at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, until last Saturday when he was brought home for care. Death occurred there at 3:45 on Tuesday afternoon. 
 

He is survived by his widow, three daughters and one son: Mrs. John (Dorothy) McCorison, Owen; Mrs. Howard (Myrtle) Stoltenberg, Wittenberg; Mrs. Lawrence (Ethel) Boardman, Thorp; and Harley C. Hoff, of San Mateo, California.  
 

Also surviving are 11 grand children, one brother, Henry Hoff, Appleton; and three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Lizzie) Adams, Milwaukee; Mrs. E. K. (Alice) Evenson, Oshkosh; and Mrs. Oscar (Lucy) Pueschner, Stetsonville.  
 

Preceding him in death were two sisters and three brothers, the oldest, brother, Nick, of Stetsonville, having died within the last month.

Funeral services for George Hoff, 71, who died April 9, were held Saturday afternoon at Christ Lutheran church, with the Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating. 
 

Pallbearers were Albert Smith, Albert Klessig, Alfred Erickson, Jake Johnson, A. J. Hennlich, and William Jakel, all of Curtiss. Internment was made in the Dorchester cemetery. 
 

Flowers were carried by Mmes. Alfred Erickson, Jake Johnson, A. J. Hennlich, and William Jakel. 
 

Relatives and friends attending the funeral were from Appleton, Oshkosh, New London, Madison, Chippewa Falls, Menominee, Marshfield, Medford, Stetsonville, Dorchester, Curtiss, Owen, Rosholt, Irma, Wausau, Wittenberg, Thorp, and San Mateo, California.
