Stump, Edith Ellen (15 Nov. 1880 - 12 Sept. 1956) 
 

The body of Mrs. George Stump, 75, will lie in state at the Zink Funeral Home here, starting this evening. Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian church at Abbotsford, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, with the Rev. Richard Harrison officiating. Burial will be made in Evergreen cemetery at Medford. 
 

Mrs. Stump was admitted to St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield on July 1. Death, caused by cancer, came at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday. 
 

Edith Ellen Harding was born in England, Nov. 15, 1880. At the age of 3 years, her parents came to Spencer and the following year went to Rib Lake. She was educated in Rib Lake and taught schools in Taylor county until her marriage to George Stump at Rib Lake July 15, 1903. 
 

They lived in Westboro and Medford for a time and in 1920 settled in Abbotsford. Here they operated a chicken ranch and for 15 years, operated a small grocery store, which they sold nine years ago, due to ill health. 
 

Mrs. Stump was a member of the Presbyterian church and for five and one-half years, served as financial secretary. 
 

Surviving her are her husband, George M. Stump, Abbotsford; one son, Le Roy, of Los Angeles, and three grand daughters. 
 

Two sons, Floyd and Robert, and a daughter, Bernice, preceded her in death.

Many friends attended the funeral services for Mrs. George M. Stump, 75, who died Wednesday. Rites were held Saturday at the Presbyterian church, at 2:00 o’clock, followed by internment in the Evergreen cemetery, Medford. 
 

The Rev. Richard Harrison officiated at the services during which Richard Kennedy sang "Abide With Me," and "Beyond the Sunset." Miss Lois Ehrenreich played the piano accompaniment. 
 

Pallbearers were Gerhard Anderson, Fred Bobbe, Frank Ehrenreich, Morris Mantor, Howard Merwin and Roland Voelker. 
 

The flowers were carried by ladies of the Royal Neighbor lodge of which Mrs. Stump was a member. 
 

Attending from away were Mr. and Mrs. Jay French, Rhinelander; Mr. and Mrs. Holmer Walcott, Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Adams, Wheaton, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Felch, Schofield; Mrs. Joe Moore, Wisconsin Rapids.
