Dodmead, Richard F (? - 15 June 1952) 
 

Body Coming Home - Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Dodmead have received word that the body of their son, Richard F. Dodmead, who was killed in Korea June 15, 1952, is being sent back to the United States.  The telegram, dated August 13, told the Dodmeads to make no funeral arrangements until further notice because the exact time of the arrival of the body was not known.

The body of Richard F. Dodmead, who died in Korea, arrived here last week and reposed at the Bergemann Funeral Home until Tuesday morning, when a requiem high mass was read at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Very Rev. M. J. Kelnhofer was the celebrant. Burial was made in the parish cemetery. 
 

The Haugen-Richmond Post No. 73 of the American Legion was in charge of the military rites.  Color bearers were Harry Roehrborn and Ed Zschernitz; color guards, Gust Carl and Ernest Vine; firing squad, Peter Ludovic, William Seif, Ernest Karnitz and Joe Cardarelle; bugler, Judith Paulson; pallbearers: Edward Genteman, William Genteman, Charles Havlicek, Gerald Kuehn, Roger Kuehn and Dale Mitchell.  The body was escorted home by Capt. L. Smitt of Oakland, Cal. 
 

Relatives from out of town attending the rites included: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smitke, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Smitke, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hass, Mr. and Mrs. Ore Nye and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hass of Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Boie, Mrs. Millard Timlin, Melvin Hass and Oscar Boie of Stanley; Mr. and Mrs. John Hurd of Eau Claire; Molly Hass of Menasha; Mr. and Mrs. Charles McElravy of Ladysmith; Mrs. Guy Leiby of Menasha; Mr. and Mrs. Reinhold Doege and daughter of Eau Claire; Mrs. Margaret Dodmead, Mr. and Mrs. James Dodmead of Osseo; Mr. and Mrs. John Cameron, Mr. and Mrs. Roy McCann of Eau Claire; Conrad Hass of Cadott; Joe Hass of Stanley; George Hass of Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Perkins of Duluth; Robert Smitke of Duluth and Capt. L. Smitt of Oakland, Cal.
