Whittlinger, Harvey (1899? - 9 Oct. 1954)

Funeral services for Harvey Whittlinger, 55, who ended his life Saturday morning were held at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby at 2:00 o’clock Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. William Grafe, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran church, at Curtiss, officiated. Burial was made in Green Grove cemetery.

Members of the family told Clark county authorities that Whittlinger had been despondent since he sold his farm on Sept. 27. His body was found in the barn. Clark county sheriff Frank Dobes and Coroner John Bergemann, both of Neillsville, investigated the death. The coroner said there would be no inquest.

Whittlinger was born in the town of Beaver, Clark county and farmed all of his life in the Curtiss area. He was married Oct. 20, 1922, to Hilda Scheer at Green Grove Lutheran church.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Paul, Milwaukee; Vern, Abbotsford; four grand children; one brother, Charles, Amery and seven sisters, Mrs. Milton Sangstad and Mrs. Meta Miller, Milwaukee; Mrs. Lena Bauer, State of Washington; Mrs. Viola Lang and Mrs. Gertrude Becker, Owen; Mrs. Esther Ayer, Unity, and Mrs. Clara Clouse, Loyal.
