Laack, Jean (Marriage - 2 June 1956)  
 

Given in marriage by her father, Miss Jean Laack, became the bride of Robert Ebert, Saturday afternoon. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler performed the double ring ceremony at 2:30 o’clock at Christ Lutheran church. During the ceremony, Herbert Juneau sang "The Lord’s Prayer," and "Because."  
 

Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Laack, Abbotsford, and Mr. and Mrs. William Ebert, of Colby. 
 

The bridal gown was strapless, fashioned of lace, molded in the waistline with curved pleats inset in the scalloped cuff at the top. Tiers of lace and tulle formed the bouffant skirt. Tiny lace covered buttons closed the long, tapered sleeves of the lace jacket, buttoned at the neckline forming a mandarin collar, and again at the waist line.  
 

Imported silk illusion veiling in finger tip length was attached to a halo brim outlined with pearls. An orchid surrounded by pink roses and stephanotis formed her cascade bouquet.  
 

Satin bridal rings covered with pink carnations and white mums were carried by the three bridal attendants. Matron of honor for her new sister-in-law was Mrs. Lawrence Koffarnus, Wausau, while Mrs. Harlan Laack, Milwaukee, sister-in-law of the bride, and Mrs. Joseph Kremsreiter, Wausau, were bridesmaids. 
 

Shaded net-over-taffeta ballerina-length dresses, ranging from soft pink to deep coral were worn by the aides. Small ruffles of a lighter shade of pink were used on the fitted, strapless bodices, and the waistlines were accented with a crushed cummerbund of taffeta in a deeper shade. The full skirts were ruffled in shades of pink net deepening in color near the hemline. Net stoles were worn over the strapless bodices. Daisies outlined the brims of the pillbox hats of woven, fine straw, worn by the attendants. secured to the gowns. They wore pillbox hats of openwork woven fine straw with with the brem outlined with daisy trimmed side clips in the soft pink shades used in their gowns. Their bouquets consisted of satin bridal rings of pink carnations and white mums.  
 

Lawrence Koffarnus, brother-in-law of the groom, Wausau, served as best man, and Harlen Laack, brother of the bride, Milwaukee, and Howard Barr, Colby, were groomsmen. Ushers at the church were James Lamont, Abbotsford, and Arnold Strathman, Colby.  
 

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Laack selected a beige linen dress with beige accessories and an orchid corsage. Orchids were pinned at the shoulder line of the pink lace dress worn by the groom’s mother. She had pink and white accessories.  
 

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents and at 5:30 supper was served to 200 guests at the church parlors.  
 

Guests for the wedding came from Wausau, Colby, Unity, Medford, Wausau, Marshfield, Milwaukee, Chicago, Curtiss, Merrill, Edgar, Rothschild, Hatley, Owen, Hartford, Dorchester, Milan and Phillips. 
 

When the young couple left for a honeymoon trip to New Orleans, Mrs. Ebert was wearing a black and white linen coat dress accented with a white orchid corsage.  
 

The bride has been employed at the Colby State Bank and the groom is employed at Rosemurgy Motors, in Wausau. They will make their home at 228 North Third Avenue, Wausau.
