Christie, Wisconsin

 

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Shaw and daughter Mildred visited relatives at Longwood, over Sunday.

 

Mrs. Mary Churchill has gone to Neillsville to visit relatives and friends.

 

Fred Draper of Loyal, was in our midst Thursday.

 

Mrs. Hatch, Mr. Frank Hatch, Mrs. D. Hatch of Appleton, Mr. and Mrs. Rueben Bullard of Longwood, Mr. and Mrs. John Schwamb, Misses Clara Free and Meda Merikle of Globe, were relatives and friends from away, who attended the funeral of Mrs. Jerome Shaw.

 

The ice cream social held Thursday night was well attended. Proceeds mounted to nine dollars.

 

Mrs. Shaw who has been visiting her son, returned to her daughter's at Longwood last Friday.

 

Misses Nellie and Nettie Montgomery of Pleasant Ridge visited at Mr. Armitage's several days last week.

 

Mrs. Oelig of Greenwood, is visiting her sister Mrs. Raymond.

 

School commenced in the Mound school yesterday, with Miss Ethel Ferguson as teacher.

 

I. Wilcox went with a load to Tioga black berrying last Friday.

 

Dick Meyers, in a runaway last week, broke his arm.

 

School commences Monday with Amelia Deutsch as teacher.

 

Jacob Demouth went to chicago to attend the Reunion.

 

Mrs. Nick Schafer, who has been seriously ill, is now much better.

 

Died -- at her home Sunday forenoon, Mrs. Jerome Shaw. Deceased was 29 years of age. During the few years she lived in our midst, she won many friends. The husband, a son of seven years, a daughter of a few days, her mother, a sister and brothers are left to mourn her death. Funeral services were held in the church, Rev. Kloster of Greenwood, officiating. Internment in the Neillsville cemetery.
