Scheel, Wanda (Marriage - 17 Jan. 1955)

The double ring ceremony was used at the wedding of Miss Wanda Scheel and Robert Hebert, Monday. The Rev. Thomas Burney read the service at 10:00 o’clock in the First Presbyterian church at Abbotsford. Mrs. J. F. Samson provided the nuptial music.

Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Scheel, of Abbotsford, and Mr. and Mrs. Leo A. Hebert, of Unity.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a ballerina length gown of white net with a very full skirt. A pointed collar detailed the sleeveless lace jacket, worn over a strapless bodice. Seed pearls formed the heart shaped crown which secured her finger tip veil. Red roses, white pompons and stephanotis were combined in her colonial bouquet.

Attending her was her sister, Mrs. LeRoy Hainzlsperger, of Superior, as maid of honor, and her friend, Miss Sandra Zink, of Abbotsford, as bridesmaid. Their ballerina length gowns were made alike with full net ruffled skirts and shirred, strapless bodices. With them they wore net stoles and net hats with rhinestone trim. Pale orchid was the color for the matron of honor and ice blue for the bridesmaid. Their colonial bouquets were of white pompons and gladioli with net and ribbon streamers to match their dresses.

Leroy Hainzlsperger, of Superior, was best man and Mark Knuf, a friend, of Unity, was groomsman. David Van Dreel, Wisconsin Rapids, cousin of the bride, was usher.

A corsage of red roses and white mums accented the gray suit with charcoal accessories which Mrs. Scheel wore to her daughter’s wedding.

Ninety guests were present at a 12:00 o’clock dinner served at Presbyterian church dining room. A reception was held in the afternoon and supper was served at the home of the bride’s parents. In the evening, the now Mr. and Mrs. Hebert greeted their friends at a wedding dance at Memorial hall, Dorchester.

Guests at the wedding were from Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids, Colby, Unity, Brodhead, Owen, and Abbotsford.

Mr. and Mrs. Hebert are making their home in Abbotsford where the groom is employed at the Streckert Manufacturing Company.
