Marking, Beverly (5 DEC 1953)

Miss Beverly Jean marking, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Marking, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Mr. Lester Howard Hansen, son of Hans C. Hansen, Withee, in a double ring ceremony at three o’clock, Dec. 5, 1953, in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Longwood.  The Rev. M. S. Egge heard the nuptial vows before an altar decked with bouquets of ferns and mums.

The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Herman Rabska of Withee.  Mrs. Hansen wore a navy blue wool suit having a trim of white angora and a matching hat.  Her shoulder corsage was of red roses and lilies of the valley.

Mr. Herman Rabska, the bride’s brother-in-law, was best man and Warren Hansen, brother of the bridegroom, served as usher.

During the ceremony Mrs. R. C. Powers of Prairie du Chein, sister of the bride, presided at the organ and another sister, Mrs. J. W. Davison of River Falls, sang "Oh Happy Home" and "The Lord’s Prayer."

After the church services a reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents and at six-thirty o’clock a dinner was served to immediate relatives and friends of the newlyweds at the Woodland Hotel.

The couple will reside in Withee and are well known in the community.  Mrs. Hansen is a graduate of the Owen Public Schools and is employed as a secretary at the Master Packaging Corp., while Mr. Hansen is a graduate of the Withee school system and is engaged in the trucking business.

Guests attending the ceremony were from Prairie du Chein, River Falls, Madison, and Canton, Ill.
