Miss Peggy Joyce Theiler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Theiler Sr., Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Eugene De Vere Koplitz, Withee (Clark Co.), in a candlelight ceremony performed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Humbird.  The Rev. Hortman officiated and a program of nuptial music was presented by Mrs. Arthur Meinhardt, Owen.  Vocal soloist was Miss Flora Bartholomay, Wausau.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a chapel length gown of Chantilly lace and nylon tulle over satin.  The gown was fashioned with a fitted bodice of lace over satin topped with sequins, full length fitted sleeves of Chantilly lace, and a bouffant skirt of nylon tulle over satin.  Her bridal bouquet contained white roses and stephanotis.

Mrs. John Gousel, Eau Claire, sister of the bride, was matron of honor, and the bridesmaids were Mrs. Myrtice Tieman, Owen, sister of the groom, and Miss Betty Crawford, Wauwatosa.  All wore similarly fashioned waltz-length silk gowns.  The matron of honor wore pastel yellow, and the bridesmaids, ice blue.  Tehir gowns were complemented by matching mitts and floral headbands.  They all carried colonial bouquets of tea roses.

Serving as best man was Robert Dodge, Medford.  Others attending the groom were Everett Metcalf, Madison, and William Theiler, Jr., Humbird.  Ushers were Glen Tieman, Owen, and Howard Pierce, Black River Falls.

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Theiler chose a navy blue crepe dress and white accessories, and the groom’s mother was attired in a dark blue dress accented with aplae blue jacket.  Each had a corsage of white roses.

Immediately following the wedding, a reception was held at the Fireplace Supper Club, Neillsville.

Both the bride and groom are graduates of Wis. State College, Eau Claire.  While there she was a member of Kappa Delta Pi and Sigma Pi Kappa and he is a member of Eta Phi and Pi Epsilon Delta.  Mrs. Koplitz formerly was on the teaching staff in Wauwatosa and he is a member of the faculty at Barron.

After July 8 the couple will be at home at 1715 Gore Blvd, Lawton, Okla, where Mr. Koplitz is a ballistic meteorologist and a teacher in the Artillery School command, at nearby Ft. Sill.
