Voight, Sophie (02 FEB 1946)

The Trinity Lutheran church here was the scene of a very pretty wedding ceremony at 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon, Feb. 2, when Miss Sophie Voight, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gust Voight of the town of Sherman, became the bride of Dr. O. R. Klemme of Stratford, son of late Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Klemme. The Rev. J. C. Langholz read the   marriage vows and Mrs. Otis Ferrell of Marshfield was organist.

Presented in marriage by her father, the bride wore a platinum brocaded satin gown styled with a dropped waistline and gathered peplum. Her fingertip veil of illusion was caught to a satin and seed pearl headdress and she carried a shower bouquet of white gardenias. Her pearls were a gift of the groom.

Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Clifton of Minneapolis, Mrs. Glenwood Knorr of Chicago and Ardell Klemme of Stratford, niece and nephew of the groom, Mr. and Mrs Merlin Untiet of Stratfdord, Mr. and Mrs, Clifford Weiher of Athens and Miss Mildred Oestreich and Alan Voight of Loyal. The later is a brother of the bride.

Mrs. Clifton, matron of honor, was attired in a briar pink lace and net frock, styled like the bride’s with a dropped waistline and full peplum and long skirt. The bridesmaids wore identical dresses of the same shade of briar pink, made with faille bodices and double net overskirts. All carried colonial bouquets if pink roses and pompoms and completed their costumes with matching blusher veils.

Following the wedding service dinner was served to 75 guests in the church basement, after which an informal reception for 90 persons was held from 7 to 9"|:30 p.m. at the home of Dr. and Mrs. F. C/ Kroeplin in Stratford, brother-in-law and sister of the groom. That evening a dance was given in honor of the newlyweds at Rozellville.

When they left for a month’s wedding trip to Miami and Key West, Fla., and Havana, Cuba, Mrs. Klemme was wearing a brown and slate blue dressmaker suit, with brown accessories. They will be at home to friends after Mar. 3.

Mrs. Klemme is a graduate of the Loyal high school and the LeClair School of Beauty Culture in Milwaukee, and she now owns the Stratford Beauty Shop. Dr. Klemme is a graduate of the Stratford high school and the Marquette university where he was affiliated with Delta Pi Epsilon social fraternity.

Guests from out of town included: Dr. and Mrs. F. C. Kroeplin and children, Carol and Karl, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Allington and son, Billie, Mr. and Mrs. George Klemme and son Larry, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Allington, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Zenner, Misses Connie, Ruby and Madelyn Weber, Misses Eleanor and Ruth Kaiser and Miss Olive Spindler, all of Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ebbe and children of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Voight of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Schmidt of Delavan; Mr. and Mrs. Donovan Allington of Wausau; Miss Hattie Fredricks of Janesville; Mr. and Mrs.Ervin Stremer of Athens; Mr. and Mrs. William Fisher of Spencer, and Mr. and Mrs. James Will of Mayville.
