Schraufnagel, Gayle Margaret (Marriage - 24 Jan. 1953)

Mr. and Mrs. George V. Thomas have returned from their wedding trip in northern Wisconsin and are at home to friends at 320 East Broadway, in Medford.

Their marriage took place, Saturday morning, Jan. 24, at the English Lutheran church at Ashland. The Rev. Mr. Hanson read the double ring service at 11:00 o’clock.

The bride, Gayle Margaret Schraufnagel, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schraufnagel, of Abbotsford, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. V. A. Thomas, of Medford.

For the ceremony, the bride chose a princess style dress of navy faille, street length, with three-quarter length sleeves and a white Peter Pan collar. A corsage of camellias and white roses and navy accessories completed her ensemble.

Mrs. William Berweger, of Ashland, aunt of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a gray wool frock with black accessories. Camellias and white carnations made up her shoulder corsage.

Miss Gertrude Amacher, Medford, a friend of the couple, was bridesmaid. She was attired in a raspberry wool dress and also had black accessories. Her corsage was made of camellias.

Attending the groom were the bride’s uncle, Edward Engelking, Ashland, as best man, and Irvin Thomas, Medford, brother of the groom.

After the ceremony, dinner was served to the bridal party at the Marine Club, at Ashland.

The bride, a graduate of the Abbotsford high school, class of 1949, has been employed at the dental offices of Dr. E. J. Schmidt. The groom, who served in the navy for three years, is employed as truck driver for the Neuendorf Transportation Company of Medford.
