Kalepp, Margaret (Bremer) (October 23, 1912 - August 17, 2009)

Margaret Kalepp, 96, died on August 17, 2009 at her home in Dorchester surrounded by her loving family.


Margaret was born on Oct 23, 1912 on a farm three miles east of Abbotsford to Richard and Hilda Bremer.

She went to Abbotsford schools and graduated May, 1931. She spent one year at New York with her Aunt Gesina, then returned to Abbotsford and worked as a waitress, until she met Clarence Kalepp. She married him Feb. 3, 1932 by Rev. Brandt at Dorchester, Lutheran Church. She had four children; Bonnie, Bernice, Lloyd and Eugene.

She worked on the home farm and also became bookkeeper for Kalepp Implement Store until 1957, and then became part owner and bookkeeper for the Kalepp Fish Farm.

Margaret is lovingly survived by her children; Bonnie (Gene) Polzin of Medford, Bernice Kalepp of Medford, and Lloyd Kalepp of Dorchester, Wis. She is the proud grandma of Eric (Marcy) Polzin of Janesville, Greg Polzin of Janesville, Lisa (Sean) Whinnery of Middleton, Tim (Jeanine) Paddock of Bakerfield, Calif., Darwin (Sara) Paddock of Dorchester, Sherilyn (Bryant) Clayton of Green Bay, and Sandy Brockman of Medford; 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.


Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Clarence; her son Eugene; a brother Melvin Bremer; and a sister Evelyn Matthews.


Funeral services will be at Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford, on Wednesday, August 19 at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Paul C. Hunsicker will preside. Visitation will be at the church from 9-11:00 a.m. on the day of service. Burial will follow at Christ Lutheran Cemetery in the town of Holton.
