Mr. and Mrs. Arvin H. Gosse will reside in Colby when they return, the first of the week, from their wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Canada.  Their marriage took place at Christ Lutheran church at Abbotsford, Saturday, Aug. 9, when the young couple exchanged marriage vows before the altar on which were place lighted tapers and vases of garden flowers. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler read the service at 2:00 o’clock. Herbert Juneau sang, "Jesus, Lead Thou On," and "O Perfect Love," and provided the organ music.  
 

The bride, the former Frances Schauer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Schauer, of Abbotsford, was given in marriage by her father. For the occasion she wore a gown of white nylon marquisette over satin. Ruffles of Chantilly lace outlined the net yoke of the fitted bodice and of the long, pointed sleeves and extended down the front of the full gathered skirt, which flowed into a wide train.  
 

Lace bordered the finger tip veil, which fell from a head piece trimmed with pearls and rhinestones. She wore a double strand of pearls, a gift from her brother, who is now in the service. She carried a cascade bouquet of rubrum lilies and white carnations.  
 

Miss Ruth Giese, Edgar, was maid of honor, and Miss Ilene Keller, Curtiss, was bridesmaid. They wore gowns of yellow and orchid, respectively, with matching head pieces and gauntlets and carried colonial bouquets. They also wore rhinestone earrings and necklaces, the gift of the bride.  
 

The bride’s little sister, Ruth Ann, was flower girl. Her frock was of white net over satin with little satin bows accenting the full skirt. She had a matching head dress and a carried a colonial bouquet.

The groom, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gosse of Milwaukee, was attended by Delmer Radetzsky, as best man, and Roger Kobs, both of Colby; James Schauer, Thorp, and Sam Gosse, Colby, were ushers.  
 

The bride’s mother wore a sheer navy blue dress with white accessories and the groom’s mother wore a two piece navy ensemble, with white accessories. Their corsages were alike, of pink and white carnations.   
 

About 145 guests attended the reception and 4:30 dinner served at the home of the bride’s parents. Streamers in the bridal colors of white, yellow and orchid and white wedding bells decorated the home and a three tiered wedding cake and lighted tapers centered the bridal table.  
 

Guests at the wedding were from Milwaukee, Fairberry, Ill., Menomonie, Appleton, Hammond, Spring Valley, Thorp, Edgar, Marshfield, Curtiss, Withee, Colby, Abbotsford, and California. 
 

When Mr. and Mrs. Gosse left on their wedding trip, Mrs. Gosse wore a navy blue suit with white accessories and the corsage from her bridal bouquet. 
 

The bride is a graduate of the Abbotsford high school, class of 1950. The groom is employed at Felker’s Service Station in Abbotsford, Wis.
