Hemlock

 

The many friends of May Moore will be glad to know she has so far recovered from her recent sickness as to be able to come home. Mrs. Moore went to Eau Claire after her Monday returning Tuesday.

 

Fred Limprect and wife and Otto Geisler and wife  went to Reseburg Sunday intending to be the guest of J. E. Colby and wife, but while they drove up on the west side road, Jesse and wife came down the other road so they missed each other.

 

Dr. Davis, of Lawerence University, Appleton, preached to an appreciative audience Sunday.

 

Mrs. Al Hugget of La Crosse, with children, came Tuesday for a few days' visit with parents.

 

Wm. Alperstedt spent Sunday with folks and best friends.

 

Hemlock S. S. will celebrate the 4th with a picnic.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Rowe and children arrived Saturday from Calumet, Mich. She is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anderson.

 

Mr. Nesbit, getting tired of waiting for a raise in the river, has had his tents pulled down and stored his provisions and let his man go.

 

Maji Spencer and best girl were seen wheeling around town Sunday.

 

T. A. Anderson and wife drove to Hemlock Saturday evening.

 

E. T. Burch and family were seen on our street Sunday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. J. Colby of Reseberg, were the guests of her sister, Mrs. Armstrong Sunday.

 

Mrs. Byron Mead and children visited at Geo. Warner's Tuesday last.

 

Ferdie Anderson spent Sunday under the parental roof.

 

Henry Humpke, the census taker, was calling through this section last week.

 

Mabie Varney, who has been attending school at Stevens Point, has returned home for the summer vacation.

 

Sadie Anderson is working for her brother, Adolph, at the Commercial House.

 

Hope all who are interested in school affairs will be present at the school meeting July 2. There will be two officers elected, clerk and director. Remember, mothers have a voice in school matters.
