Steager, Jacob #2 (3 OCT 1873 - 19 JAN 1952)

 

Funeral services for Jacob Steager, 78, who died Saturday, Jan. 19, 1952, in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, were held at Griebenow Funeral Home at Owen, Tuesday, Jan. 22.

 

The Rev. W. Clayton Nielsen officiating and burial was made in the family lot in the Riverside Cemetery.

 

Jacob Steager was born Oct. 3, 1873, in Germany and came to the United States at the age of 16 and settled in Glenwood City.

 

In 1899, he was untied in marriage to Anna Bruchert at Withee.  After living in Glenwood City one year they moved to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) where he was employed at the John S. Owen sawmill.  In 1911 they moved on a farm west of Withee where they resided until his death.  He leaves to mourn, his wife, one son, Peter, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.  One son, Otto, preceded him in death in 1918.

 

Serving as pallbearers were: Ed Bruckschlager, Otto Neimag, Hans Hansen, Harold Heideman, Walter Heideman, and Leon Bruchert.

 

Those in charge of flowers were Mrs. Jack Olds, Mrs. Victor Nielsen, Mrs. Walter Heideman and Mrs. Earl Jensen.
