Oakley, E. B. #2 (1858? - 20 MAR 1910)
Monday the word came from Santa Ana, Calif., that Prof. E. B. Oakley had died there on Sunday, and the news came as a great shock to Mr. Oakley’s many friends in this city (Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis.). At one time Prof. Oakley was the principal in the Neillsville schools, and it may be truthfully said that the schools were never served by a man who was more beloved by his pupils, more highly esteemed by the citizens and who did his work with a greater degree of satisfaction. At the time of his death, Prof. Oakley was about 52 years of age, and up to about eight weeks ago had been actively engaged as principal of the Santa Ana schools. Bright’s Disease was the cause of his death. He is survived by his wife. Mrs. Oakley is a sister of Mrs. Nettie Youmans and Mrs. A. H. DeLane.
