  Diercks, Marie #2 (21 OCT 1945)

A very pretty wedding took place in Trinity Lutheran church here on Sunday, Oct. 21, at 3 o’clock, when Miss Marie Diercks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs., William Diercks of the town of York, became the bride of Herbert Hinkelmann of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hinkelmann of the town of Loyal. The Rev. J. C. Langholz officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The church was decorated with a lattice fence in the bridal colors and joined to a white wedding bell, through which the bridal party passed when they approached the altar. The arch and fence were trimmed with fall greens.

The bride was gowned in a white satin dress with sweetheart neckline and long sleeves coming to a point over the wrist and full tulle over-skirt. Her fingertip veil of white illusion was caught to a crown of seed pearls and she carried a bridal bouquet of pink roses and white carnations tied with white net. Her jewelry was a gold heart-shaped locket, a gift of the groom.

Miss Diercks chose as her maid of honor, Miss Anita Hinkelmann, a sister of the groom. She was gowned in sweetheart blue. The dress was fashioned with a V-shaped neckline, lace trimmed puff sleeves and bodice and full skirt.

Miss Laura Noeldner, a close friend of the bride, was bridesmaid. She was gowned in pink, identical to that of the maid of honor, and both wore shoulder length veils and headdresses in matching color and carried bouquets of pink carnations and white chrysanthemums tied with matching net. Both wore gold heart-shaped lockets.

Walter Hinkelmann attended his brother as best man, and Verland Dux was groomsman. The groom and his attendants wore dark suits and boutonnieres of white carnations and ferns.

During the ceremony, the confirmation hymns of the bride and groom,"Let Me be Thine Forever" and "Take Thou My Hand, Dear Father," were sung by Mrs. Erwin Dux and Mrs. Erwin Noeldner, with Mrs. Marvin Seeman at the organ.

Supper was served to the bridal party and near relatives at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Saibold, brother-in-law and sister of the bride, and covers were laid for 40 people.

The home was decorated with white, blue and pink streamers and a white wedding bell. The bride’s table was centered by a three-tiered wedding cake, topped by a miniature bride and groom and baked by Mrs. Alfred Mandel of Loyal.

In the evening a coin shower and wedding dance were held at the Moose hall in Neillsville, with Art Lucht and his orchestra furnishing the music.

The young couple is now at home on the farm of the bride’s parents in the town of York.

To the newlyweds, The Loyal Tribune extends its best wishes for happiness.
