  Colby, Virginia (13 OCT 1945)

At a double-ring candlelight service, read in the Methodist church at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct 13, Miss Virginia Colby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Colby of Loyal, became the bride of Albert H. Andersen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marius Anderson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The nuptial ceremony was read by the Rev. M. E. Taylor before an altar decorated with baskets of white and yellow chrysanthemums, palms and lighted tapers.

Miss Loretta Gotchy of Wausau sang "Oh Promise Me," "Through the Years’ and "Oh Perfect Love." Miss Gladys Schultz of Wausau was organist.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a formal white wedding gown, designed with a satin bodice and entrained tulle overskirt. Her finger-tip veil of illusion was caught to a Dutch cap of lace, and she carried a shower bouquet of pink roses and yellow and white pompoms.

Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Prior of Loyal. Mrs. Prior wore a pink taffeta and chiffon frock and a matching Dutch cap. Her flowers were as arm bouquet of fall blossoms.

Covers were laid for 55 guests at dinner, served in the church parlors at 7 o’clock. Floral centerpieces of chrysanthemums, flanked with ferns and candles, decorated the tables, while a white three-tier wedding cake centered the table of the wedding party.

Following a brief honeymoon to southern Wisconsin, the couple will return to Wausau to make their home. Both the bride and groom were graduated from the Wausau Business Institute. Mrs. Andersen has been employed by the Marathon Finance Co. at Wausau, and her husband was recently discharged from the army service, after returning to the states from three and a half years of service in the European theater of operations.

The bride graduated from the Loyal high school with the class of 1938.

Guests from out of town included the bride’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Colby, of Crystal Lake, Ill; Mrs. Marius Andersen, Janice Bestel and Lt. Wanda Andersen of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Crowley, Mrs. Gus Braun, Miss Rachel Halversen and Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Jacobson of Owen; Mrs. Sam Hoffman and family, Mrs. Glen Getzke, Mrs. David Van Cour, Miss Lucille Hensel, Miss Leah Fluegel, Miss May Weiland and Miss Jeanette Puckett of Wausau, and Thorvald Stigson of Withee.

The Loyal Tribune extends to the young couple its wishes for happiness.
