 Yaniga, Mary #2 (17 JUN 1868 - 25 AUG 1945)

 

Mrs. Martin Yaniga (nee Mary Steffen) was born in Bohemia on June 17, 1868, and passed away at her home in this village on Saturday, Aug. 25, having reached the age of 77 years, two months and eight days.

 

The family resided 2 ½ miles northwest of Greenwood until May, 1944, when Mr. and Mrs. Yaniga moved to Loyal. She was a member of the West Side Reformed church at Greenwood and a member of its ladies aid.

 

Mrs. Yaniga is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Henry (Paula) Vollrath, of Greenwood, and a son, A. E. Preller, of Abbotsford, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at the home here at 1:15 p.m. and at the West Side church at 2 o’clock, the Rev. J. C. Klingeberger officiating. She was laid to rest in the West Side cemetery.

 

The pallbearers were Al Prime, Theodore Humke, Ferdinand Decker, George Humke, William Goeke and Fred Kuester.

 

The Tribune extends to the bereaved its sympathy in the loss of a loved one.
