Thorson, Viola H. (27 October 1896 - 13 March 1952)

Viola H. Thorson, age 55, of Withee died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield on March 13 following an illness of four and a half years.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday at 3 p.m. from the Griebnow Funeral Home at Owen. Interment waws made in the Riverside Cemetery with the Rev. Clayton Neilsen officiating.

Mrs. Thorson, nee Viola Albert, was born on October 27, 1896, to Theodore and Hulda Albert at Chilton. She was graduated from the Thorp High School and was engaged in teaching school previous to her marriage.

She was married to Harry N. Thorson on September 16, 1923, at Greenwood. She was a member of the Lutheran church and of the Royal Neighbors of America. She held the office of village treasurer.

She is survived by her husband, two children, Capt. Marvin A. Thorson of St. Paul, Minn., U.S.A.F., and Mrs. Lawrence (Maxine) Christopherson of Withee; one grandson, Denny; two brothers, Edgar Albert and Clinton Albert of Withee; and the following sisters, Mrs. Carl (Nona) Replogle of Waupaca, Mrs. Henry Afrank, Garibaldi, Ore., and Mrs. Reuben Weresch of Milwaukee; and her father, Theodore Albert.

Pallbearers were Bert Beilfuss, Roy Auberg, Lester Himes, Norbert Bruchert, William Warns and Felix Symanski.

Floral offerings were in charge of Mrs. William Warns, Mrs. Howard Bloyer, Mrs. Norbert Bruchert, Mrs. Bert Beilfuss, Mrs. Bill Veurink, Natalie Scherf, Lorraine Christensen, Scotch Copper and Elsie Adams.

Persons from out of town attending the services included Capt. and Mrs. Marvin Thorson of St. Paul, Mrs. Reuben Weresch of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Replogle and family of Waupaca, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thorson and family of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Thorson and son Denny of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Al Thorson and family of Fond du Lac, Mrs. Calvin Waggenblast and William and Helen Ohr of Hammond, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. Kingsley Hollenbeck, Mr. and Mrs. James Mac Rae of New Holstein, Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Albert, Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Bob McKee of Pittsville, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Albert, Mrs. Martha Albert and daughters of Vesper, and Mrs. Nell Albert of Thorp.
