Keskimaki, Hanna (25 May 1881 - 1952)

Mrs. Hanna Keskimaki, age 70, of Withee died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emil Hansen, after a lingering illness. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday at two o’clock from the Griebnow Funeral Home. The Rev. Neilson and Rev. Aukee were the officiating clergymen. Interment was made in the Pine Hill Cemetery of Curtiss.

Mrs. Keskimaki was born in Finland on May 25, 1881. She came to this country in 1897. She was married to Isaac Keskimaki on July 4, 1903, at Ishpeming, Mich. They farmed in the Town of Holway, Taylor County from 1915 until 1950, when she sold her farm and moved to Withee, where she has since made her home. She is survived by seven children, Mrs. Emil (Kathryn) Hansen of Withee; Mrs. Frank (Irja) Smith of Owen; Eugene of Milwaukee; Mrs. William (Gertrude) Smith, Abbotsford; Martin of Withee; Mrs. Gordon (Ingrid) Hamrick of Curtiss; Mrs. Harold (Edna) Williams of Withee; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Laurie.

Pallbearers were her two sons, Martin and Eugene, and four sons-in-law, Frank Smith, Gordon Hamrick, William Smith, and Harold Williams.

Floral offerings were in charge of five granddaughters, Joyce Karaba, Jean and Virginia Smith, Patsy Hamrick and Carol Keskimaki, also Dorothy Neibacher, Josephine Nowak, Inez Blume, Bernadine Williams and Mrs. Ignatz Nowak. Mrs. John Lehtonen and Mrs. Kauno Neimi sang two selections accompanied by Mrs. Aukee. The members of the Nazareth Lutheran choir sang, accompanied by Louise Hansen.

Persons from out of town attending the rites included Sgt. Lloyd Smith of Chandler, Ariz.; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Keskimaki, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Karaba, Jean and Virginia Smith, all of Milwaukee; Adolph Hannula, Richard Kniivila, Mrs. Lempi Hannula and Mrs. Ray Besola of Ishpeming, Mich.; Mrs. John Lehtonen, Negaunee, Mich.; Toivo Hannula and Leslie Hannula of Waukegan, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hill and Sam Keskimaki of Eben Junction, Mich.; Eugene Keskimaki of Marquette, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. George Hamm of Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Maki of Kennan, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hurtienne and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Williams of Medford.
