Lott, Verla Faye (Marriage - 9 June 1950)

The Evangelical Lutheran Church at Curtiss was the scene of the 4:00 o’clock nuptial service on Saturday afternoon, June 9, in which Miss Verla Faye Lott exchanged nuptial vows with Neil McCarron. The Rev. O. K. Odland officiated at the rites.

Mrs. Robert Mattson, Owen, served as matron of honor for her twin sister, and bridesmaids were Mrs. Max Zellers, Chicago, cousin of the groom, and Judith Wollum, Owen, friend of the bride. Serving the groom were Robert Mattson, Owen, Max Zellers, Chicago, and James Herman, Dorchester, Wis.

The groom’s cousin, Barry D’Orazio, Colby, acted as ring bearer, while Oakley Steinke and Donald German, Curtiss, served as ushers. Mr. Steinke is a cousin of the bride. The soloist was Miss Harriet Marking, of Owen, with Bonnie Marking, Wausau, as organist.

A daughter of Mrs. Milo Lott, Curtiss, the bride chose for her wedding a gown of white slipper satin with full skirt extending into a long train. The bodice of the gown had a net yoke trimmed with seed pearls and an embroidered leaf motif. Her fingertip veil was caught to a beaded tiara, and she carried an arrangement of calla lilies and red roses.

The bride’s twin sister was attired in a white organdy frock over taffeta and a Quaker bonnet of nylon net. The bonnet matched her mitts, which were an off-pink shade. Her bouquet consisted of pink and white carnations and purple iris.

Mrs. Zellers gown was of shell pink organdy over taffeta with a bonnet and mitts of blue. Miss Wollum’s gown was similar in aqua with bonnet and mitts of white. Both carried pink and white carnations interspersed with iris.

After the wedding a reception was held in the Evangelical Lutheran hall at Curtiss.

The groom, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Pat McCarron, Dorchester, is currently operating a root beer stand in Abbotsford, Wis. He is a graduate of the Dorchester High School and of the Burnham Beauty Culture School. His bride is a graduate of the Owen High School. They will make their home at Dorchester, Wis.

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Lott wore a royal blue dress, white accessories, and a corsage of red and white roses with blue carnations. The groom’s mother was attired in a tan dress complemented by brown accessories and a corsage of pink roses with yellow carnations.
