Pope, Joyce Rae (Marriage - 21 June 1950)

The lawn at the home of the bride’s parents in the Town of Holton, was the scene for the double ring ceremony performed at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, by the Rev. Raymond Browe, of Chili, at which time Miss Joyce Rae Pope became the bride of Clarence Paul Pokallus, Colby, Wis.

The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Grant Pope, Town of Holton, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pokallus, Colby, Wis.

Gowned in a dress of aqua blue nylon, featuring a velry floral design, low neckline, puffed sleeves, hoop skirt and a matching picture hat, the bride carried a bouquet of blue rosrs and carnations with a white tulle bow.

Mrs. Lawrence Pokallus, cousin of the groom, was the matron of honor. She was dressed in a formal of orchid taffeta with a hoop skirt and low neck line. Tiny roses were set in at the bottom of the skirt. Miss Malita Kranz, the bride’s cousin, as bridesmaid, was attired in a yellow voile dress with lace insertions, and wore a corsage of flowers. Floral headpieces completed their ensembles.

Lawrence Pokallus, the groom’s cousin, was best man, and Ernest Richwalski was the groomsman.

After the ceremony, a supper was served at the bride’s home with the Kalsonaires furnishing the music. In the evening, a dance was held at Walter’s Pavilion, Colby, Wis.

The couple are spending their honeymoon in the southern part of the United States.

Mrs. Emma Roder, Abbotsford, grandmother of the bride, was among the guests at the wedding.
