Wigstadt, Ben (3 May 1890 - 3 May 1950)

Ben Wigstadt, of Dorchester, was killed and Herman Baumer, of Stetsonville was seriously burned on both hands and one foot when the boom of a well drill touched a high voltage line at Stetsonville Wednesday.

The accident occurred about 10:00 o’clock in the morning when the men were working on a well at a home formerly occupied by the injured man. The auger of the equipment was being lifted out of the ground when the boom touched the electric wire.

Both men were taken to the Medford hospital by a motorist who happened to be passing the scene. There hospital authorities listed Baumer’s condition as serious but not critical.

Wigstadt’s body was taken to the Fuchsgruber Funeral Home at Dorchester, Wis.
