Kuester, Fred, Mr./Mrs. (50th - 11 NOV 1953)


Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kuester of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, Saturday, Nov. 14th, at the Legion Hall in Thorp.


The Kuesters were married on Nov. 11, 1903, in the town of Warner by the Rev. Mr. Schmalz. Mrs. Kuester is the former Alvina Brandt. Following their marriage they lived on a farm in the town of Warner for 41 yeas, and then moved to Loyal, their present home.


A noon-time meal was served, at which their nine children and families were present. One hundred-fifty relatives and friends were present for the 6:30 supper.


The hall was decorated with bells, candles and flowers, and centering the dining table was a large three-tier Golden Wedding cake. Eight granddaughters of the Kuesters served as waitresses.


A mock wedding was a feature of the evening’s entertainment.


Among the many gifts received by Mr. and Mrs. Kuester was a television set presented by their children, who had arranged the day’s activities for the honored couple. A beautiful bouquet from Trinity Ladies Aid of the local Lutheran Church was received by Mrs. Kuester, who is a member of that society.


A dance honoring the couple was given in the all in the evening.


The children of Mr. and Mrs. Kuester, who, with their families were all present for the celebration were: Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kuester and four children, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Kuester, Ansonia, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Kuester and two children and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Briski and daughter, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. George Kuester and three children, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ebert and three children, Loyal; Art Kuester, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Mattes and four children and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kuester and five children of Thorp.


Other guests were from Greenville, Ohio, Sheboygan, Kiel, Elkhart Lake, Rochester, Owen, Greenwood, Neillsville, Willard, Loyal, Thorp, Hannibal, Milwaukee and Howards Grove and Manitowoc.
