Kluckhohn, Marion Edward (15 July 1918 - 31 May 2009) With Flag.

Marion Kluckhohn, 90, of Neillsville died Sunday, May 31, 2009, at the Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville.

Marion Edward Kluckhohn was born July 15, 1918, in Knox, IN, the son of Edward H. and Gertrude (Unz) Kluckhohn. He graduated from school in Naperville, IL, and worked construction with his dad. He was united in marriage to Dolores Patchett July 30, 1939, in Naperville, IL. From 1942 to 1946, Marion served with the United States Navy. He was very proud of his time in the Navy. When he returned to his family in 1946, he farmed until 1951 when he and Dolores moved to Neillsville*. Here he farmed and worked construction until 1958 when he went to work for Jordahl Brothers and then Rice’s as a carpet layer. After his retirement in 1999, he took care of the Russell Park Campground for three years and then the KOA in Hixton for three years. Marion and Dolores enjoyed traveling and spending their winters in Texas. Marion was a member of the United Methodist Church and a lifelong member of the Neillsville American Legion.

Marion is survived by his wife, Dolores of Neillsville; five children, Jack (June) Kluckhohn of Neillsville, Carolyn (Tom) Zschernitz of Neillsville, Patricia (Manfred) Weisgerber of Neillsville, Patrick (Valerie) Ranney Chandler, AZ, and Gary (BettyAnn) Ranney of Spokane, WA; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is further survived by one brother, Harlan Kluckhohn of Stockton, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Francis; and a sister, Lila.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting Marion’s family with arrangements.
