Riehle, Betty Ann (Marriage - 7 May 1949)

Miss Betty Ann Riehle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Riehle, of Colby, became the bride of Leslie Kohl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kohl, of Athens, Saturday morning, May 7, at St. Bernard’s Catholic church. Nuptial vows were exchanged in a double ring ceremony before the High Mass at 8:30, with the Rev. Raymond Schulz officiating.

The bride wore a white satin gown. A headdress of orange blossoms held the long veil and the blusher veil, edged in lace. She carried a bouquet of red roses mixed with white flowers.

The maid of honor was Miss Mary Jane Riehle, sister of the bride and Miss Eleanore Kohl, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. Both wore yellow frocks with matching head pieces. Their corsages were of red roses and white carnations.

Dinner for 40 guests was served at the home of the bride’s parents and a reception held in the afternoon, was attended by about 240. In the evening a wedding dance was held at the Trianon ball room.

Mr. and Mrs. Kohl are at home to friends eight miles east and one mile south of Abbotsford, where Mr. Kohl is employed at the Loddie Loskot farm.

Among the guests from away who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. William Shepard, Mrs. Roy Rose and Herschel Ehmke, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. John Knoll, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Langteau, Mr. and Mrs. Russel Anderson, of Medford; and Mrs. Thompson, Wausau.
