Miss Mary Ann Lukas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton V. Lukas of Milton Junction, Wis., and John Boie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Boie of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), exchanged their marriage vows at four o’clock on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 16, 1953, before a large group of relatives and friends. The Rev. Cecil Dawson read the double ring ceremony and performed the nuptials before an altar which was decorated with white gladioli and mums, and lighted candelabra at the First Methodist Church in Milton Junction.

"The Lord’s Prayer" and "O Perfect Love" were vocal selection by Lester Barchus during the ceremony.

Charmingly gowned in a chapel length gown of white nylon and lace, the bride was given in marriage by her father. The gown featured a rose point lace backskirt and tiered ruffled nylon tulle front skirt, fitted bodice of lace over satin, illusion neckline and long pointed lace sleeves. Her fingertip veil of French illusion net was caught in a lace cap trimmed with seed pearl teardrops and she carried a bouquet of garnet roses tied with white satin streamers.

Miss Shirley Kallath, Ripon, classmate of the bride, was the maid of honor. She wore a strapless gown of cotillion blue nylon net over taffeta with a cummerbund waist trimmed with a band of Chantilly lace. She wore a matching accessories and a headpiece of yellow tea roses. Her bouquet was of yellow tea roses.

The bridesmaid was Miss Carole Agnew, Milton Junction, who wore a gown identical to the one worn by Miss Kallath. She carried pink tea roses and wore a matching headpiece in her hair.

Little Susan Kay Larson, Milwaukee, niece of the groom, was the flower girl in a gown of white nylon net over light blue taffeta. She carried a basket of rose petals.

The best man was Dean Boie, Thorp, brother of the groom. Richard Jacobson, Waukesha, friend of the groom, was the groomsman, and the ushers were Dean Roe, Minneapolis, a friend, and Henry Lukas, Milton Junction, brother of the bride.

Mrs. Lukas witnessed her daughter’s wedding wearing a dark blue dress with matching accessories and a corsage of pink and white carnations. The groom’s mother was attired in a navy sheer dress with a similar corsage.

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the parlors of the church for 250 guests.

The bride is a graduate of the Madison General Hospital School of Nursing and the groom graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and is engaged as a teacher in the public schools of Mayville, Wis.

Included among the guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Boie and Dean, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy F. Bye of Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Norval Boie and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jacobson of Stanley; Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Edwardson of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Larson and Susan Kay and Mr. and Mrs. Byron Boie and daughter of Milwaukee; Dean Roe of Minneapolis; Thomas Copenhaver of Chicago; Richard Jacobson and Miss June Douglas of Waukesha; and others from Janesville, Beloit, Madison and Taylor.
