An auto accident Sunday resulted in the death of a Golden Spur Club member returning home after feeding his three horses.

 

Donald Heideman, 30, formerly of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis., died of a skull fracture and broken neck in an ambulance enroute to Stanley Memorial Hospital after the accident at 4:45 p.m. His 1951 model car went out of control on a curve four miles west of Thorp, skidded 240 feet off the left side of the road and down a 10 foot embankment and then rolled over four times., according to Clark County Coroner John Bergeman, Heideman was alone.

 

Heideman, who was widely known as "High Power", was born in Reseburg. He was a veteran of World War II and employed by a power company as a lineman. He was married to the former Carol Anderson, Stanley, in 1951.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at Stanley.

 

Mr. Heideman was born April 25, 1922 and was graduated from Thorp High School in 1942. He served in action overseas during World War II and was discharged as a sergeant at Ft. Sheridan, Ill., in Sept. 1945. He married his wife on Christmas Day 1951.

 

In addition to his wife he is survived by five brothers, William, Rockford, Norman, Milwaukee, Rowland, Appleton, Elmer, Sheboygan, Lyman, Neillsville; and two sisters, Mrs. Vince Wagner, Eau Claire, Mrs. Charles Anderson, Ellsworth. Mrs. Anderson is on a vacation trip with her husband and funeral arrangements were delayed while they are being notified.
