Castner, Hazel I. #3 (26 JUN 1945)

A very pretty wedding took place at the Loyal Methodist church last Tuesday morning when Miss Hazel Irene Castner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Castner of Loyal, became the bride of Hugo John Roesler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Buss of Thorp, at 10 o’clock double ring ceremony, with the Rev. Myron Taylor officiating.

The bride chose for her wedding day the 77th birthday of her father.

The altar was beautifully decorated with pink and white peonies and mock orange blossoms.

The bride was dressed in navy blue sheer, with white accessories, and wore a shoulder corsage of pink and white carnations tied with pink and white satin ribbon. She wore a pearl necklace and matching earrings, gifts of the groom. The bridesmaid, Mrs. Orlena Sprengler, sister of the bride was dressed in a dress similar to that worn by the bride.

The groom and his attendant, Rev. Sprengler, wore blue suits and wore carnation boutonnieres.

The bride’s mother was dressed in black, and the groom’s mother wore navy blue.

The bridal party entered to the strains of "Mendelssohn’s Wedding March," played by Miss LaVonne Smith. The songs "Oh Promise Me" and "I Love You Truly" were sung by Mrs. Calvin Prior, with Miss Smith as accompanist.

A reception was held in the dining room of the Methodist church, and dinner was served to 55 guests. The dinner was prepared by Mrs. C. C. Taylor, Mrs. Harold Hills, Mrs. V. O. Kauffman, Mrs. August Fricke, Mrs. Celen Gotter, Mrs. R. M. Pratt, Miss Bernice Draper and Mrs. Frank Coryell.

The bride is a graduate of a four-year course at Central Teachers college in Stevens Point. She has taught for 21 years in Clark county rural, state graded and village schools. The groom, who recently received his honorable discharge from military service, is employed at the Blue Moon Dairy in Thorp, where the newlyweds now make their home.

Guests from away who attended the wedding included: the Rev. and Mrs. F. K. Sprengler and family, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Buss, Mr. and Mrs. Rueben Rossman and little daughter, Judy. Mrs. John Barth and daughters, Pearl and Betty, William Roesler, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Buss and son, Bobby, and Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Sisco, all of Thorp, Miss Clara Roesler and Mr. and Mrs. John Kosmosky and family of Eau Claire, Miss Helen Roesler of Chippewa Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Castner and family of Antigo, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Johnson of Stanley and Harry Castner, S1/c, home on a 30 day leave from the Aleutian Islands.

The Loyal Tribune joins their many friends in wishing them a long and happy journey through life.
