Stoltz, Ruth (Marriage - 20 July 1947)

On Sunday, July 20, Miss Ruth Stoltz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Stoltz, Rapid City, South Dakota, became the bride of Donald Broeske, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Broeske, of Abbotsford, Route 1, at a double ring ceremony at St. Paul’s Lutheran church at Rapid City. The Rev. A. F. Volmer, a brother-in-law of the bride, of Waco, Nebraska, delivered the address and the marriage service was read by the Rev. H. Sauer.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a white satin gown inset with lace applique. A beaded halo held her veil of Chantilly lace. She carried a white Bible with gardenias and satin streamers. She wore a necklace of rhinestones, a gift of the groom.

The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. A. F. Volmer, of Waco, Nebraska, who was attired in a blue and white celanese gown and carried a colonial bouquet.

The Misses Sylvia Stoltz, a niece of the bride, wearing a pink net floor length dress and Dee Ann Ferguson, in white, were flower girls. Both little girls wore pink daisy sprays in their hair.

Dennis Stoltz, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer and Raymond Stoltz and Erwin Ferguson, of Rapid City, were ushers.

Marvin Rastl, a classmate of the groom, at Concordia Seminary, of Springfield, Ill., of Birnamwood, Wis., was best man.

Miss Marilyn Stoltz, niece of the bride, at the organ, played the processional, "Marche Nuptials" and recessional, "Marche Triumphant," and also accompanied Miss Jean Feurstenau, who sang "O Perfect Love," and "The Lord’s Prayer."

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Stoltz wore a white dress with matching accessories. Her corsage was of gardenias. Mrs. Broeske, mother of the groom, wore a black and white silk gown with white accessories and gardenia corsage.

Following the ceremony a dinner was served for 21 guests at the Y.W.C.A. and at 5:30 a reception was held for friends and relatives. The Misses Iveleen Heerwold, Mildred Pressler and Helen Frye served as waitresses. At the reception Mrs. Winona Burcklund played several selections on the piano and accompanied Miss Florence Volmer of Draper, S. Dak., who sang "The Year’s at the Spring."

Mrs. Ray Goltz was in charge of the guest book.

Mr. and Mrs. Broeske left for a short wedding trip to the Black Hills and after Aug. 3 will be at home at Natoma, Kansas, where he will be ordained into the Lutheran church of the Missouri Synod, having recently been graduated from Concordia Seminary.

Out of town guests included Mrs. Leslie Ferguson, Smithwick, S. Dak.; Mrs. Bertha Bieberdorf, Buffalo Gap; and Mr. and Mrs. Broeske and Marvin, Dorchester, Wis.
