Mueller, Elsie (Marriage - 14 June 1947)

Miss Elsie Mueller, daughter of Mrs. Anna Mueller, Abbotsford, and Ralph Woik, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Woik, Owen, exchanged marriage vows in a 1:30 o’clock nuptial service on Saturday, June 14, at Christ Lutheran church, with the Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother, Arnold F. Mueller, Abbotsford, wore a gown fashioned with a white slipper satin bodice with high, round neckline trimmed with a flower appliqué of beaded pearls. The long sleeves ended in points over the wrists and the full marquisette skirt ended in a long train. She wore a pearl necklace, a gift of the groom.

A crown of orange blossoms held the finger tip veil which was bordered with two rows of lace. The fan shaped bridal bouquet was made of orchids and white carnations.

Attending the bride was Miss Helen Zebro, Mosinee, as maid of honor, and the Misses Delores Mueller, Withee, and Lila Mueller, Abbotsford, nieces of the bride, as bridesmaids.

The maid of honor was attired in a white ninon gown with puffed sleeves and sweetheart neckline. The bridesmaids wore identical frocks of pink and orchid. All three attendants wore pearls, the gifts of the bride, and carried bouquets of pink roses and white carnations.

Robert Woik, brother of the groom, was best man, and Robert Ebert, Colby, and Marlyn Sommers, Curtiss, were ushers.

The bride’s mother wore a dress of navy blue with white accessories; the groom’s mother wore a blue dress with white accessories. Their corsages were of red carnations and lily of the valley.

During the ceremony, the Misses Vangel Bobbe and Joyce Merwin sang "O' Perfect Love," with Miss Inez Gust as accompanist.

A 5:30 supper was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Weideman, brother-in-law and sister of the bride, to approximately 60 guests. White, pink and blue streamers decorated the Weideman home. In the evening a wedding dance was held at Walter’s Pavilion, at Colby, Wis.

After a wedding trip to southern Wisconsin and Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Woik will make their home on a farm west of Curtiss.

The groom, a graduate of the Owen high school, class of 1941, is a farmer. The bride, before her marriage, was employed at the Home Bakery.

Guests from Chicago, Milwaukee, Park Falls, Mosinee, Stratford, Withee, Owen, Colby, Curtiss and Abbotsford attended the wedding reception.
