Krzyzanowski, Josephine (24 AUG 1952)

Miss Josephine Krzyzanowski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Krzyzanowski of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Thomas Broda, son of Mrs. Anna Broda of Thorp, during a Nuptial High Mass performed at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 24th, 1952 in St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church. Officiating at the double ring service was the Rev. Francis Piekarski.

Bouquets of pink and white gladioli adorned the altar and Mrs. Eugene Kurzowski of Chicago, a cousin of the groom, sang the mass.

Approaching the altar on the arm of her father, Chantilly lace and satin fashioned the bride’s gown. Features of the lace bodice included long tapering sleeves that came to a point over her wrists. Her full ace skirt with nylon, tulle pleated panels in front, extended into a long train. Her fingertip veil fell from a head bonnet of rhinestones and she carried a bouquet of orchids and stephanotis. She wore to the altar as gifts of the groom, a love story necklace with matching earrings.

Mrs. Wally Krzyzanowski of Thorp, sister-in-law of the bride, as matron of honor, wore a shrimp colored net over taffeta gown and a headband of yellow roses arranged into a heart shaped bouquet. As a gift of the bride, she wore a pearl necklace with matching earrings.

Betty Champa, Chicago, as first bridesmaid and Lenore Heiman and Delores Ciolkosz, both of Thorp, as her bridesmaids, all friends of the bride, wore aqua colored flocks, respectively styled like the maid of honor’s.

Eddie Broda, Chicago, the groom’s brother, was best man.

Guests were ushered to their places in church by Frank Giwojna and Raymond Giwojna, Thorp.

Following the ceremony, dinner was served in the P.N.A. Hall to close relatives and a 6:00 o’clock supper was served to 400 guests. A reception was held there in the evening.

The couple spent their honeymoon in Northern Wisconsin, Michigan and Canada.

The groom is engaged in farming near Thorp, where the couple are making their home.
