The Stanley Methodist Church was the scene on Saturday afternoon, July 12, 1952, of the wedding of Miss Viola Johnson and James Arneson. Performing the double ring ceremony at one o’clock was the Rev. Leland Shaw. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meyer of Stanley and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Arneson of Stanley. Miss Monghild Soderberg sang "Oh Promise Me" and "Oh Perfect Live," with piano accompaniment by Marett MacFarlane.

White satin over lace was chosen by the bride for her gown which featured a net yoke, long pointed sleeves and full skirt. Her only jewelry was a pearl necklace. A crown of orange blossoms held her fingertip veil in place and she carried a cascade bouquet of red roses. She was given in marriage by her step-father, Albert Meyer.

Mrs. William Johnson, Humbird, sister-in-law of the bride, was the matron of honor. She wore a gown of white net over taffeta and carried a bouquet of red and white carnations.

Attending the bride as bridesmaids were her sister, Mrs. Robert Zakrezwicz, Stanley, Mrs. Kay Konwinski, Stanley, their gowns were of white lace and net over taffeta and they carried bouquets of red and white carnations. They wore headbands of pleated net set with rhinestones and pearl necklaces.

The groom’s nice, Betty Jean Konwinski, Stanley, was the flower girl. Her gown was of white ninon over taffeta and she carried a basket of mixed flowers.

LeRoy Johnson, Greenwood, a nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.

Elmer Johnson, Thorp, brother of the bride, was the best man. The groomsmen was Roaber Zakrezwicz, Stanley, brother-in-law of the bride, and Ray Konwinski, Stanley, brother-in-law of the groom.

At four o’clock a reception was held at Mileaway Ballroom at Thorp.

The bride’s mother witnessed the ceremony wearing an aqua cepe dress with a corsage of pink and white carnations. Aqua taffeta was worn by the groom’s mother with a similar corsage.
