Baures, Anna #2 (13 MAR 1872 - 10 MAR 1952)

After an illness extending fifteen months, Mrs. Henry J. Baures passed away Monday forenoon, March 10th, 1952 of old age infirmities, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Felker in Minneapolis. She, being an R.N., has cared for her mother much of the time during the later stages of her illness.

Mrs. Baures was born Anna Doelle at Fountain City, Wis., on March 13, 1872 and funeral rites were held for her on her 80th birthday anniversary.

On Oct. 8, 1895 she was united in marriage to Henry J. Baures at St. Joseph’s Church at Glencoe, Wis.

They came to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) about 38 years ago from Menomonie, first settling on a farm in the town of Worden in the Breezy Hill district. They sold this farm to their son Firman, where he still besides, then lived with their son Edward until his marriage three years ago, when they purchased their present home in Thorp. On account of her health they went to Minneapolis to spend the winter months, where she passed away.

Mr. and Mrs. Baures celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Oct. 8, 1945, in the presence of their many relatives and friends. Their children and grandchildren all attending the gala occasion.

To this union 10 children were born, all of whom survive her but one son, Joseph, who died in 1911 at the age of nine years.

Those who are left to mourn her death are her husband and children as follows: Irene, Mrs. Robert Haas, of Thorp; Laura, Mrs. Casper Haas, of Thorp; Ella, Mrs. Carl A. Carlson, of Minneapolis; Mary, Mrs. Emil Carlson, of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; Walter Baures of Los Angeles, Calif.; Arthur Baures of Fairchild; Margaret, Mrs. John Felker, of Minneapolis; Firman Baures of Thorp; Edward Baures of Sheboygan. Other surviving relatives are 43 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Chris Gleason (Lena), Arcadia; Mrs. Ed McWeinny (Sophia), Arcadia; Mrs. Peter Schumacher (Matilda), Menomonie; three brothers: Edward Doelle of Menomonie; Frank Doelle of Fountain City; Henry Doelle, Nelson, B. C.

Life will never be quite the same to those who knew her, while those who were nearest to her will long for her with unutterable longings - long for a mother’s counsel and advice, and a wife’s gentle and loving sympathy. She was a woman of strong Christian character, patient, loving and self-sacrificing.

Solemn mass was read at 9:30 Thursday morning, March 13th at St Bernard’s Church here by Rev. Chas. Schumacher of Arcadia, nephew and Godchild of Mrs. Baures, assisted by Rev. Arnold Muckerheide and Rev. John Pinion of Edson.
