Weideman, August C. (5 Sept. 1869 - 24 Nov. 1946)

Funeral services for August C. Weideman, who died at his home Sunday were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Zink Funeral Home, where the body has been lying in state, and at 2:00 o’clock at Christ Evangelical Lutheran church with the Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating. Internment was made in the Holton cemetery.

The pallbearers were John Schefsick, Herman Lapp, Herman Johnson, William Kleiman, Ed Leuth and Gust Busse.

The flowers were carried by the Misses Beverly Lindberg, Joanne Weideman, Lorraine Leuth, Shirley Holtzhausen, Gladys Zich and Lucianne Pupp.

August C. Weideman, son of Ferdinand and Caroline Adler Weideman, was born Sept. 5, 1869, in Sheboygan Falls. At the age of 17 he came to this community. On Nov. 17, 1895, he was united in marriage with Miss Bertha Wolters. The young couple made their home on the farm in the town of Holton from then until their retirement, Feb. 1, 1941, when they sold the farm to their son, Edwin, and moved to Abbotsford, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. Weideman celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Nov. 17, 1945.

Mr. Weideman, in fair health, became ill Friday and suffered a second attack on Sunday. Death caused by coronary thrombosis, came Sunday afternoon at 5:00 o’clock.

He is survived by his widow and the following children: Mrs. Alvin (Nova) Lindberg, town of Hull; Edwin and Henry, town of Holton; Miss Freda, of Milwaukee; Mrs. Harold (Anna) Patswald, of Eau Claire. One daughter, Lizzie, preceded her father in death at the age of 7 years.

He leaves two brothers: Herman, of Colby; and Fred, of Two Harbors, Minn.; and two sisters, Mrs. William (Lena) Greier, of Colby, and Mrs. Henry ( Lizzie) Scheelk, of Fenwood.
