Cruise, Anna C. #2 (24 APR 1895 - 9 MAY 1951)

Mrs. Anna C. Cruise, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim P. Hansen, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), was placed in her final resting place at Riverside Cemetery Saturday, May 12th. Funeral services were conducted at 9 a.m. from the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, with Fr. Raymond Bornbach reading the final rites. Serving as pallbearers were six nephews.

The deceased was born on April 24, 1895 at Rock Rapids, Iowa and passed away on May 9, 1951 at Oak Park Hospital, Oak Park, Ill., after being ill for several months. She was 56 years of age.

A great many friends and relatives in this community are grieved at her untimely death, as she was well known here, having spent most of her childhood days in this community. She attended the Owen Grad and High School, going to Milwaukee after her graduation from high school to enroll in a business course. On July 16, 1922 she and Barney V. Cruise were united in marriage at St. Paul, Minn. Their late years had been enjoyed at Oak Park, Ill., where they were successfully engaged in the operation of a boiler repair and welding shop. Mrs. Cruise was affiliated with the business in an executive capacity. Her long illness and untimely death have disrupted plans which the couple have had for years and were about to realize as they were going to retired from active participation in the business affairs this spring.

Not only will she be missed in this community, but in her home community of Oak Park where she had been especially active in numerous charities and civic activities of that community.

Surviving her are her husband, mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Jim P. Hansen, two sisters, Sena Youmans and Mrs. Lyle (Mathilda) Hass, Owen and two brothers, Walter Hansen of Owen and Jim of Withee.
