Pieper, Edna (6 JAN 1945)

Miss Edna Pieper of Milwaukee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pieper of Loyal, and Anthony Cherney, son of Mrs. Ed Cherney of Milwaukee, exchanged wedding vows in the Trinity Lutheran church at 3 p.m. Jan. 6, with the Rev. J. C. Langholz officiating.

For the occasion the bride wore a long formal gown of white satin and chiffon, made with a slim fitting bodice, distinguished with a sweetheart neckline and buttoned down the back. The full skirt of the frock was of chiffon, and her fingertip veil was caught to a Juliet cap. White gloves and a corsage of pink roses completed her attire.

Her only attendant was Miss Erma Mellenthin of Spencer, Wisconsin, who wore a blue taffeta and chiffon dress, styled like that worn by the bride, and a short blusher veil completed her costume. Her flowers were also of pink roses and baby’s breath.

Rueben Pieper of Loyal, a brother of the bride, was best man.

Following the wedding ceremony, 40 guests were entertained at supper, and later a wedding dance was held ay Merry Ol’ Gardens, near Longwood. A large wedding cake, topped with a miniature bride and groom ornament, centered the bridal table.

Mrs. Cherney was graduated from the Unity high school and attended a beauty culture school in Milwaukee, where she had been employed for the past two years. The bridegroom is engaged in war work at the Allis Chalmers plant in West Allis.

On Thursday evening, Jan. 4, a shower was held in their honor at the Beaver town hall.

Mr. and Mrs. Cherney will make their home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The Loyal Tribune joins their many friends in wishing them a long and happy journey through life.
