Brill, Marguerite (2 Mar. 1946)

Miss Marguerite Brill, daughter of Mrs. Mary Brill, Route 1, Colby, and Victor E. Thiel, son of Mrs. Emma Thiel, Route 1, Hamburg, were married at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, March 2, at the parsonage of St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby by the Rev. Nicholas B. Beschta.

Attending the bridal couple were Miss Frances Brill, of St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing, Wausau, a sister of the bride, and Benjamin Brill, Colby, her brother.

For her marriage the bride wore a gold suit with brown accessories and she had a corsage of orchids. Her sister-attendant had a rose suit with brown accessories and a gardenia corsage.

Besides the two attendants, only the bride’s and groom’s mothers were present at the ceremony which was followed by a dinner at St. Mary’s gymnasium for about 60 relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Thiel left for California for a six week’s wedding trip.

The bride, a graduate of the Colby high school, class of 1940, was employed at the Coffee Shop here for a time, later going to Chicago.

Mr. Thiel was graduated from the Wausau high school in 1936 and was employed by the United States treasury department in Chicago for two years prior to entering the navy. He has recently been discharged. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dietsche, uncle and aunt of the bride, attended the wedding.
