McVey, McPherson, C. #2 (11 MAR 1874 - 13 DEC 1950)

Funeral services were conducted at two o’clock Monday afternoon from the Methodist Church in Withee for McPherson McVey, resident of the Town of Maplehurst for the past 30 years. Mr. McVey passed away at his home late Wednesday night, Dec. 13th, 1950. He was 76 years of age. The Rev. Lee Holmes officiated at the service and burial was made in the Riverside Cemetery.

Mr. McVey was born in Whitestown, Vernon Co., Wis. on March 11, 1874. He moved to Taylor County in 1920 and settled on a farm where he resided until the time of his death. He was married to Bessie Mullendore on June 19, 1901, in Forest Township, Richland County.

He was supervisor for the Town of Maplehurst and served on the County Board several years ago, where he was a member of the Highway, Finance and Welfare committees. He also served on the Vernon County Board and as a trustee of the asylum and country farm there, before he moved to Taylor County.

Surviving him are his wife and four children, Durward, New Glarus; Allen, Waukesha; David, Town of Maplehurst, and Mrs. W. J. (Anita) Dennis, Platteville; eight grandchildren and one brother, Edward McVey, Rockton.
