Halverson, Rachel #2 (14 JUN 1950)

The wedding of Miss Rachel Halverson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl M. Halverson, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), to Robert Edwin Hopkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Hopkins, Milesville, S.D., took place at St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church here at eight o’clock p.m. Wednesday, June 14th, 1950. The Rev. Dr. K. O . Crosby performed the single ring ceremony.

For her marriage the bride chose an ice blue sharkskin summer suit with white accessories which was further enhanced by a corsage of white roses.

Mrs. Everett Jacobsen of Chippewa Falls, her sister, was her only attendant. She wore a shell pink sharkskin summer suit with green and pink accessories. Her corsage was of pink carantions.

Attending the bridegroom as best man was his brother, Dr. David Hopkins. Both the bridegroom and his best man wore light brown suits.

Mrs. Ted Halverson, aunt of the bride, played the organ. Previous to the ceremony, Mob Hatcher, her cousin, sang "The Lord’s Prayer" and during the ceremony sang, "O Perfect Love."

The bride’s mother wore a dress of navy crepe with matching accessories and a corsage of pink carnations.

Immediately after the ceremony a reception was given in the Community Hall. Each table setting was attractively decorated with bouquets of spring flowers.

Later that night the couple left on a wedding trip that will take them into Canada. They will make their home upon return in Abbotsford, Wis.
