Cordes, Bessie (?1884 – ?1966)

Bessie Cordes, nee Behling, aged 82 years, passed away at her home, 4227 W. Bonny Place, Milwaukee. She was born and lived with her parents on a farm in Milwaukee which is now Burloigh Street, later moving with them as a young lady to a farm north of Withee. She was united in marriage to Harry Cordes and her bridesmaid at her wedding was Mrs. Alva Mertens (Pete) of Withee, who attended her 50th wedding anniversary. She returned to Milwaukee after living many years in Thorp, where her husband was employed by the Northwestern R.R. She leaves to mourn her husband, a daughter, Bernice, two brothers, Fred of Withee and Hilbert of Pittsburgh, Pa; also cousins, nieces and nephews. Burial was at Black River Cemetery, Withee on Wednesday, 2 p.m.
