Morrow, Mary (18 Jan. 1867 - 9 July 1944)

Mrs. Mary Morrow, 77, died at the home of her son, Carl, town of Mayville, early Sunday morning. The body lay in state at the Zink Funeral home where a rosary service was held by the Catholic Ladies’ Altar Society, Tuesday evening. After the requiem high mass sung by the Rev. Francis Brockman in St. Bernard’s Catholic church at 9:00 o’clock Wednesday morning, internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery.

The pallbearers were George Lundahl, Daniel Vandehey, James Vandehey, John Schefsick, William Bogaard and John Brandt.

Mrs. Morrow was born Mary Ellen Kennedy at Mosinee, Jan. 18, 1867. She attended school at Wausau and later taught school in Marathon county.

On May 5, 1889, she was united in marriage to Joseph Morrow at Halder, Wis. Mr. and Mrs. Morrow made their home at Loyal for 39 years and the past ten years at Abbotsford, Wis. They lived on a farm east of Abbotsford where in 1939 they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Late that year, Mr. Morrow died and Mrs. Morrow then made her home with her son, Carl.

Mrs. Morrow has been an invalid the past seven years and has been seriously ill since January with gangrene resulting from diabetes. Death came at 12:40 a.m. July 9.

She is survived by three sons, Carl and William, Milwaukee, and James, of Colby; five grand children and one great grand child. One sister, Mrs. James Vandehey, Abbotsford, and a brother, Martin Kennedy, of Ingram, also survive.

Preceding her in death were her husband, a son, Joseph, and four sisters and one brother.

Among the relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kennedy, Mrs. Charles Russell, Mrs. Paul Krisik and son, Paul, Ingram; Mrs. William Farmer, Wausau; Mrs. Martin Shrieber, Mrs. Frank Stack and daughter, and Mrs. Margaret Maquire, Mosinee; Mrs. Noel Schelling and Grant Vandehey, Chicago; Mrs. Adonis Delberto, Iron Mountain, Mich.; and Mr. and Mrs. James Hayes, Stratford.

Friends from away who were at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. William Schultz, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. John Brandt and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Brandt and family, Greenwood.
