Bitter, Rosemary (Marriage - 13 Nov. 1943)

Preceding a 9:00 o’clock nuptial high mass in St. Bernard’s Catholic church, Saturday morning, nuptial vows were exchanged between Miss Rosemary Bitter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Bitter and Jacob Beyerl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beyerl, Colby, Route 1. The Rev. Francis Brockman performed the double-ring ceremony.

For her wedding, the bride wore a white taffeta gown with a circular train and long sleeves which ended in points over the hand. Pearls bordered the square neckline and lace bordered the two tiered veil which fell from a matching head dress. She wore a pearl necklace, a gift from her mother, and carried a large bouquet of roses and mums, tied with a large bow of wide satin ribbon.

Attending as maid of honor was Miss Juanita Sybeldon, of St. Mary’s School of Nursing, Wausau. She wore a frock of pink taffeta with blue dots and a blue floral wreath. Her shoulder corsage was made of baby mums and roses.

Miss Louise Grumann, Lanoa, who was bridesmaid, wore an identically styled frock with its shirred bodice and full skirt, in blue, with pink dots and a pink head dress. Her corsage was of red roses.

Both attendants are friends of the bride.

Attending the groom were Aloysius Beyerl and Julius Schulz, both of Colby, Wis.

For the occasion, large vases of chrysanthemums matching those in the bridal bouquet, were placed on the high altar in the church. Mrs. C. T. Dolan sang, "Ave Maria," as a solo at the offertory of the mass.

Following the ceremony a wedding dinner for 25 immediate relatives was held at the home of the bride’s parents. A pyramid wedding cake formed the centerpiece on the table. Other decorations were carried out in pink and white. In the evening a reception was held after which Mr. and Mrs. "Jim" Beyerl left on a wedding trip to Chicago and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

After November 21 they will be at home to friends at the "Pine Lawn Farm," near Colby, Wis. Mrs. Beyerl, who is employed at the A. F. Zillmer company at Colby, is a graduate of the Abbotsford high school, class of 1941. The groom is a graduate of the Colby high school of the same year.
