Bush, Vivian (Marriage - 14 Sept. 1943)

Miss Vivian Bush, who was given in marriage by her father, Leonard Bush, became the bride of Harry J. Wilhelm of the United States navy, Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 14, at 2:00 o’clock at River Falls at the home of the groom’s father, Harry I. Wilhelm. A double-ring service was read by Rev. J. W. Harris of the Methodist church before an improvised altar ? with gladioli and asters.

The bride wore a gown of floor length white satin with a sweetheart neckline trimmed with pearls. Her fingertip veil fell from a halo. She wore a heart shaped locket, the gift from the groom, and carried a lace handkerchief that belonged to her grandmother. In the bridal bouquet were roses and baby breath.

Attending the couple were Miss ? Bush, sister of the bride, of ?, and Harvey H. Wood, a shipmate of the groom.

The bridesmaid wore a frock of blue chiffon and carried pink and blue forget-me-nots. The ? blue of the United States ? was worn by the groom and the groomsman.

For the occasion, Mrs. Bush wore a ? soldier blue with British tan accessories, and Mrs. Wilhelm wore a ? dress with black accessories. Both mothers wore a corsage of ? rose buds.

The bride is a graduate of the Abbotsford high school and of River Falls State Teachers’ college. She was an achievement member of the Pleasant Hill 4-H Club for 11 years. For the past two years, the bride taught school at River Falls.
